This afternoon, we visited the Casa Milá, also known as "La Pedrera". This house is another one of Gaudí's creations. Later, students attended a jazz concert in the park with a picnic dinner. Our students have been learning Spanish through practice with photography. Here's a sample of their work. Quite impressive! This afternoon, we visited the world famous Basilica de la Sagrada Familia designed by Gaudí. It was an impressive experience for sure!
We visited the Barcelona Cathedral and enjoyed some free time around the Gothic Quarter this afternoon. We had a great trip to Girona, which is about an hour north of Barcelona. We saw the colorful buildings along the River, toured the Girona Cathedral, and had a guided tour of the Cinema Museum. In spite of a little rain, we walked around the old city walls and took in some stunning views of the Cathedral and surrounding mountains.
Students attended their first elective classes today for a glimpse into the Spanish culture around photography, art, sports, and conversation.
We enjoyed our trip to Park Güell where we caught our first glimpse of Gaudí's unique style of architecture. The weather has been great.
